DAY 1
Tuesday, September 10, 2024

The day started out a hot and humid 80’s. Up at 5:30, we had to take Lexi to the vet for dental surgery then off to get a haircut at 9:00 A.M. then back home to shower before heading out to pick-up the RV.
Home with the RV I left to pick Lexi up while our friend Olga helped Jimmy start loading all the supplies we had staged in the house and garage.
When I returned with Lexi at 2:30 I found out that Olga had to leave earlier than planned so there was still a lot more loading to do.
Around 8:00 P.M. we were finally done, ordered subs and watched some of the 2024 presidential debate while we ate.
At 9:00 we turned it off, got in the RV, and headed out for Ocala. Had trouble with passenger door locks and side door lock then the refrigerator door flew open twice before we even got out of the neighborhood and again before we got on the Interstate. We called Suncoast and they said to duck tape the fridge and what to do to make the door locks work. This was not a very good start to our vacation.
At twelve midnight we arrived at Cracker Barrel exhausted and fell into bed.
When I wrote ths book in 2000, I was concerned about children having access to the Internet and to chat rooms where "you can be anyone you want." Here we are many years later and the situation with children talking freely to stangers on the Internet
