“This is the Second Edition in the
current series teaching women to ‘Defend Against Attack’. After the success of the first book it became apparent that there was a need to elaborate on some of the areas. But also a growing interest from the public to learn through the experiences of the victims. Hence this book not only teaches Attack Psychology but also examines how to reduce your Attack Chances.
My intention is to provide a psychological profile of the attacker, and explain what fuels the anger and the role played in the physical conflict. Having spent some time working on both ends of the spectrum, (with victims and offenders).
This manual will help empower women to curb their fear of
attack. The techniques involve a basic understanding of body mechanics and therefore reducing the apprehension which causes paralysis in the mind to react to physical conflict. Sounds heavy, but it is easier than you think! I am teaching self confidence– self defence comes as a by product !
With the aid of over 300 photo Illustrations based on attack
reconstructions gathered from the victims, Frank teaches with ease the safest forms of Grappling, Punching, Kicking and Blocking against individual and

multiple attack. This manual will help empower women to curb their fears.
The techniques involve a basic understanding of body mechanics and are explained simply with over 25 years experience of training in the Shotokan Karate System and over a 1000 workshops completed across 3 continents!

“Even without seeing a demo, the pictures in this book should make it easy enough for anyone to learn the basics of defending themselves!”

I would like to give you some feedback on your Book Defending Against Attack. I enjoyed the read up on the history of modern Karate-Dō, interested to learn that karate is practiced predominately by children and very few adults. I found the book to be very informative especially where you have gathered information from victims, and youth offenders. There are plenty of pictures to illustrate the techniques that you use within your training. I think it is wonderful idea to teach all ages how to defend themselves and the feedback I have received from people that join your classes are all very positive. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
