In Macabre2 ("2" should be superscript) Sherrod Colsne finds himself confronted with circumstances and events that shatter his own steely sensibilities.

Contrary to the openly stated of many in the latter 20th and early 21st centuries, ghouls, ghosts, and other horrors frequenting the nightmares of those who consider themselves to be otherwise rational and "scientifically" minded, are just as real and frightening today, as they were in the 19th and preceding centuries. In Macabre2 Sherrod Colsne finds himself confronted with circumstances and events that shatter his own steely sensibilities.

The Weerwolf Problem (Dutch spelling) forces Monty Weston, assistant, amanuensis, friend, and de facto son to Colsne, to reassess all that he had come to accept about the monsters that had once been part and parcel of most people's belief systems prior to The Industrial Revolution, and the subsequent explosion of "scientific" discovery.  Indeed, he must rethink his view of Colsne himself. No less nerve rattling is the truth behind a series of freakish animal deaths in Upstate New York, found in The Golden Dart.

Excerpt

“O yes,” he continued, “it is true enough: Though there is no test for ‘weerwolf,” the DNA tested, and retested, was part human, part wolf. As you know, it is nigh on impossible to keep even the mundane, ordinary facts of a violent death secret, and that news was anything but ordinary. It must be admitted that even the locals wished to keep it, ah, local, as it were. When it did get out, as such always does, there were three or four souls in their eighties and nineties, that had been told by their grandparents, and great-grandparents, of the Vandermeer ‘weerwolf,’ Peter Mark Vandermeer, to be precise. When that began to be whispered about, despite giving no credence to the notion, the local authorities quietly advised Johan Vandermeer, VI to seek whatever professional assistance he could, to counter such wild superstitions in as quiet and circumspect a manner as possible.

Macabre2: Two Tales of Evil & the Grotesque by John Spencer Yantiss

Sherrod Colsne tells of the "Weerwolf" (Dutch for werewolf) Problem they all are facing. He along with his assistant Monty Weston are forced to accept the truth of what is going on around him. Two well written stories of the truth behind werewolves. I liked the writing style, the originality, the story telling and the entire concept of how they approach this subject. He explores a scientific approach about the creatures we all have read about. A great new twist on werewolves, I highly recommend Macabre2: Two Tales of Evil & the Grotesque to those who loves stories of the supernatural
