I’m tired and I’m hungry, for somethin’ like wine
Sweet and with body, that I can call mine
A vin rose lady to, drink through the night
And reach for in the mornin’, to open my eyes.
The down-and-out revivals, of the plans for yesterday
Are the walls that I bang into, when I try to run away
Runnin’ from nowhere just as fast as I can
And just as soon as I get there, I’ll be back where I am.
O, oh impossible dreams, and terminal schemes,
Somehow it seems I just can’t take anymore;
And though I rarely ever win, I’ll never give in;
Most like I’ll stick around for, that occasional score.
I’m told that life, it don’t come easy, but I beg to disagree;
It’s decidin’ what to take and what to leave that’s hard for me;
So many shapes and colours, I just can’t make up my mind,
And sure enough when I’ve decided, I wake up without a dime
O, oh impossible dreams, and terminal schemes,
Somehow it seems I just can’t take anymore;
And though I rarely ever win, I’ll never give in;
Most like I’ll stick around for, that occasional score.
