Leadership abilities can vary under some circumstances, no one formula fits leadership, but a good leader stands out amongst their peers and becomes the example to the people they are leading. An effective leader will go far and beyond to accomplish the goal that’s in front of them. Leaders are to have unique characteristics; never arrogant, always meek and dependable. Etiquette A Leader’s behavior says a lot about their ability to lead others. It is essential for a good leader to conduct themselves in a responsible fashion; satisfactory to the other person. Never should he/she behave foolishly or unsoundly in the open. Etiquette defines good behavior which separates intelligence from stupidity. It is important for leaders to behave in the correct manner. When leaders show good etiquette they leave a mark that reminds others that they have been there before. Society has guidelines when it comes to leadership etiquette. No leader should ever be in position if he/she doesn’t know how to express them self to the public. Leaders should always make first and lasting impressions, whether it’s to an individual or group of people. Etiquette is essential to earn respect and appreciation of individuals. It’s all about using polite behavior among a specific group of people in a particular line of work. Etiquette instills a sense of trust and dependability in a good leader so he/she can grow into a more doable and established Leader. Etiquette brings more value to the role of leadership.

Good leaders aren’t simply born that way. Throughout our world, regardless of the industry, leaders work hard to take their respective business to the next level. The only problem is, many times, people are put into leaderships roles and have no idea what they are doing. Leadership has nothing to do with education or who you know. Instead, leadership is learned by studying the traits required of a leader and learning how to treat people in the meantime. We see leaders in every aspect of our life. In sports, regardless of the age or sport, you will always see one player that stands out. This doesn’t mean by talent but in how that individual carry’s themselves and interacts with other players. Some people, even at an early age, understands what it means to lead someone. Most leaders are forged by fire but you have to expect to get hurt some in order to be sympathetic to those you lead. Mildred Stallworth explained all of these aspects in her first book, Effective Leaders and Leadership. Stallworth, from an early age, was clearly going to be a leader and that led her to be a very successful business woman in her hometown. Whether you are already in a leadership role or would eventually like to be, this is the book you should be reading. The way this book is written, anyone can understand what it takes to be the best leader you can be!

In such an era when there are leadership catastrophes almost all over the world, this is a must read book. Given that leadership is demonstrated in all facets of society, I totally agree that each of us is a leader in one way or another. Therefore, we all need to learn what to do or not to do to be great leaders.

I find it interesting that the author addresses the subject matters from different viewpoints, which any reader, with respect to background or experience, can benefit from this book.

This is a most important book for all leaders to read as it might help improve the quality of leadership in our global society at large.

I give this book 5 star because the author provided true versions of real-life situations. Bullying is at the top of the list.
