Oh, how we love to point the finger. Is it not the time to demand of our minds that we accept the blame? Not them. Like it or not, we are truly all one. Clearly, we can’t separate ourselves from the “us,” the species that delude themselves into thinking there’s some kind of special accord dispensed from the supernatural whatever, making us/them special. We failed that test long ago.
Innocent Guilt
How innocent it starts.
Perhaps but the pulling of grasshopper wings,
the squashing of potato bugs,
the magnifying glass sizzle of an ant.
Onward and upward we trod.
How fertile this playground
of elementary school,
where the smear of a peanut butter sandwich
on tricky bars renders the 4-eyes the fall
accompanied by lascivious laughter,
the unconscious sexual thrill of awakening to some.
Next the willed punishment
of the zealous career bluster laid upon those
suggesting a 20-year-old is not omniscient
in all things so clearly obvious to the inexperienced,
this infancy stage of testosterone and or hormone rage or ambition.
Yes…
Such maturating violence is not male-gender prone,
For all straight, gay and transgender have the inheritance.
So it goes…
Relationships flourish.
He said, she said,
he thinks, she thinks,
he does, she does.
the stealth-like conundrum of unconscious terrorism
knowing no boiling point
in life’s cauldron of discontent.
And all from what?
Only the ghosts of misanthropy’s past know.
Some lurk beneath the robes of today’s caliphate,
some behind the chalice of duplicity,
most cowering in the ignorance of mind,
impoverished of education,
living a tenuous existence,
awaiting another chance to
discover the next habitual violence,
the axiom rising above taxes, procreation,
and religion,
