At the time that this article was written the latest Universal Annual Statistics on suicide was as follows; of the 1,000,000 reported instances of suicide, 43,000 of these deaths occur in the United States alone.

What happens? What makes a person feel there is no reason to go on living? Now, I could say, I can't imagine why someone would take their own life. But, that wouldn’t be true. Life is not easy, it’s hard. There is more hate shown in the world than love. There's more unkindness than there is kindness. There's more deceit than there is honesty. And the 'rules' in our society are fashioned to hypocritically and continuously cajole, placate and pamper negativity, ignoring the fact that tainted requests equal tainted responses that are fabricated, shallow and subject to change. The decrease of values in our society is so evident and the thing that is notoriously missing is...God.

While this world advances in every area, it falters in one prime area; it ‘lacks’ the ability to foster an awareness and reliance on our resilient, everlasting, all powerful Creator. Is there any wonder that the numbers listed in paragraph 1 are growing each and every day? There are government projects to address every ‘global emergency’ on earth and in space. Yet, there is no ‘global emergency’ project which addresses the biggest problem this world faces; total ignorance with regards to the love, mercy and grace of our Redeemer, Jesus! This is so sad because addressing this ‘grievous’ existing problem would lead to the solving of every other one of the earth’s problems.

Birthed out this lack, God’s calling on my life began…with me. Every word I am inspired to pen is the Spirit of God reaching out to me to keep me ‘afloat’! There are times that I fly! But other times, I find myself in valleys. I laugh and I sing but I also cry and am sometimes…silent. I feel joy and exuberance overflowing but there are also days when I’m sad and weighed down. I am not always full of faith…I wane at times and don the cloak of despair. This vessel of God is not sinless and, though I do try, Jesus, in His mercy and grace, reminds me, often, I have not ‘attained’. He does this so lovingly, with the excellent intent of ‘keeping me’ level. And I am grateful!

I have not, could not, write about things I did not, in one way or another, personally experience. At one time, I didn’t understand. And I asked myself; Why…me? Why am I here? What’s my purpose? Why the rejection, even before the cradle? My carnal responses to these questions and other things going on in my life led me to the point where I strongly considered committing suicide. It was only when I turned to God I realized each and every experience in my life has enabled me to relate to the present darkness, the present conditions of the world…pointing all who will listen, to the Light of the World, Jesus!

For, it is God alone who has the ability to make the difference in every life. God is the Great Physician with degrees in every specialty! Be it physiological, psychological or spiritual…God has the Answer! I know this is true because I am miraculously kept in ‘each’ category daily. And He, being no respecter of persons, will do the same for all who turn to Him.

So it is, the words that I receive from Him to strengthen me, I share with others. I have named the gathering of His inspiring poetry, prose, articles and stories, which I have re-read numerous times, ‘His Inspirations’.  Over the years, every one of ‘His inspirations’ have lifted me out of many valleys, dried my tears over and over again and re-filled me with faith encouraging me to get back up, and Press-on once more!

A Word for everyone can be found in ‘His inspirations’. But, especially, for those who feel lost, don't know where to turn and feel like giving up! ‘His Inspirations’ reaches for the beaten, rejected and depressed that carry thoughts of suicide! Those, who’ve discovered that their strength alone is not enough. Those who feel like they're alone and have no one to depend on, no one who understands, no one they can truly trust! Those that are walking through their darkest hour!

God’s inspired words beckons...to show them another way out! Through ‘His Inspirations’ God leads me to go to where they are, to where I once was and still go, now and then. And I let them know that I can relate to what they are feeling. At times, the beginning lines of some of ‘His Inspirations’ seem depressing and dark, this is necessary…I don't paint roses! I walk in the 'jungle' with them and let them know that I understand where they are coming from because I’ve been there. Then I offer them the only antidote, the only cure for their dark hour that I know. I give them what worked and is still working for me...Jesus! In many of ‘His Inspirations’ it is necessary to get rid of the frills and relate to the chills in order to help one look up to the hills.

Only God knows how many He has, or will, help through ‘His Inspirations’. But I do know that every word I'm inspired to pen comes from Him and will always, always direct the heart and thoughts of the reader to step out of the Darkness... into the Light of His Extraordinary, Magnificent…Dawn!
