No matter how we look at it...'all' healing comes from God!
Before I get into the ‘gist’ of this article, it will suffice to give a little history as to how I arrived at this bible supported ‘truth’.
Did you know that way back in the Sinai Desert, with Moses and the children of Israel, we can see Jesus Christ...Foreshadowed? Yes, way back then our Creator had 'Today'(you and I) in mind. Thus, the purpose of 'Yesterday' was for 'Today'. It will suffice to say that everything which transpired in the desert in as far as the ‘tent of the tabernacle’ was concerned(the outer court, the inner court, the lamps, the Holy of Holies, the Bread, the Wine, the sacrifices and especially the scapegoat...the Lamb)was a foreshadow of the coming of the Messiah...Jesus Christ.
So then, keeping this in mind, we can understand that when the Israelites were being bitten by snakes and dying and God instructed Moses to lift up a Rod with a Brass Serpent on it in order that His People might be healed when they looked upon it - the rod represented the Cross and the serpent represented Jesus! God was showing the world how our Victory (Healing) over Sickness/Darkness in Every Form (even death- for it is not God's will that all will be healed on this side...but on the other side) was ours...Sealed, through the Death of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
How could a serpent represent Jesus? On that Pole the serpent was both Viper and Victor. Remember that the Arch Enemy of darkness/sickness is Jesus Christ and on the Cross Jesus Christ was both Viper (He took upon Himself our Darkness/sins) and Victor...for us!
In this world there are all kinds of 'sickness/darkness' which require Healing. From Spiritual, Physical and Emotional needs, to Mental and Financial. Yes, financial because we know that 'the poor we have with us always'. And there are those who God moves to 'reach out', in whatever way they can, to bless those that are in financial need.
The point is- all healing for all our needs comes from God, who uses 'people' as 'instruments' for His Expressed Purpose.
For example; we’re forlorn or depressed and God inspires someone to pray for us, or we read a book that He inspired or listen to a sermon that He inspired a minister to preach and we are drawn closer to God - spiritually we’re healed. We talk to a friend or hear a testimony or a song that gives us hope and 'heals' the ache of our emotions following a painful loss. Many go to counselors when they feel mentally unable to cope. It is God that leads a psychologist to prescribe the right intervention for the mentally ill. When we are physically ailing we go to a doctor and God inspires the doctor how to heal or to tend a chronic condition...medically or therapeutically. Some may feel it wasn’t God at all but the very capable doctor.
They mistakenly demote the awesome fact that it is God who gives the physicians, care givers, therapists, scientists, etc… life! It is He that gives these instruments intellect. It is He that provides the knowledge of how to heal by combining herbs to anoint or ingest. It is God that inspires medical scientist in all modes of advanced healing.
It is God who places the kind, beautiful and caring people in our lives, here and there, whom we will meet as we progress through this earth. And when we receive healing through any one of them we are, of course, always grateful and thankful for them. However, we must be very careful because sometimes we give all the credit for our healing to the 'instruments'(the beautiful people) rather than...God...who uses people to do 'His will'. My heart was really blessed when the young physician that was 'healed' of the Ebola virus not long ago knew this and was not ashamed to say it in an interview. I did not hear it, but I did read it and though he was grateful for and thanked the medical staff, his testimony was a Praise of True Worship and Glory given to Almighty God for his healing. This was a perfect example of a person knowing who 'really' heals.
Certainly, as I just stated, we are very appreciative for the lives of the individuals who God chooses to use, but let’s not forget that it is Almighty God who inclines their hearts and who is the...True Provider, the Ultimate Source...of all healing. So often He is unintentionally, or intentionally, overlooked or even... completely forgotten.
We need to take the time to recognize 'Our Healer'! For it is Our One and Only Omnipotent God from which 'All' Healing...comes.
