I'm best known as a writer and researcher about UFOs, although I sometimes call them PFTs (pesky flying things). I do have degrees in astronomy and education, and my day job is as a science writer for a major university. Since grade school, I have been fascinated with the notion of extraterrestrial life and aliens and UFOs and all that stuff. During my first year in college, there was a significant UFO flap and I investigated out of interest. I wrote and published short articles about what I heard and about the people I interviewed, then was asked to write more. I soon found myself being called upon to investigate and offer opinions on other cases, both in the USA and Canada. Before I knew it, I was considered an expert on the subject, and made appaearances on NBC's "Unsolved Mysteries" and many other TV shows. Because I get government and military cases reported to me, I've now been called "The Real Fox Mulder." I have six books out, the most recent being The Canadian UFO Report. I also dabble in fiction writing, having been part of a writers' group that has published two chapbooks. One of my books is a collection of my fantasy short stories. I have also written and produced two planetarium shows, read my poetry at a literary festival, created and performed musical compositions and narrated and appeared in TV specials about UFOs and lake monsters.I'm also a single dad with two great kids who live with me and the TV cameras, and who think I'm weird. Tangentially, I have written and produced materials in support of single parent ministries to encourage and assist single parents who find themselves at wit's end.
