A bit of a realization while returning home from another state and driving in fog. Fog is dangerous, but this time it seemed different. We were the only vehicle in sight in any direction. The highway extended only a short distance either ahead of us or behind us while on either side snow covered fields vanished into nothingness. We were suspended on a thin, short strip of visible concrete that went to the edge of vision. To one side was the edge of eternity - the other side was the edge of infinity. Just the two of us, our car, and the little strip of 'Now'. That was all we had.
