In light of recent events, I’ve decided to examine the facts.

First, the corruption and sinful ways of New Orleans officials led to inadequate levees, so a vengeful god decided to do something about it, sending Katrina to flood that den of drunkenry, sex, and violence, twice, so that it will never rise again. The French Quarter was spared because it was the source of spirituals, the lifeblood of religious feeling. Bearing down on the gambling and licentious casinos of Gulfport, Mobile, and Biloxi, he destroyed them, too. Unfortunately, a few churches had to be sacrificed in the process.

Secondly, god steered Rita away from Galveston because the city officials do not allow drunkenness and lurid nakedness on the family paid beaches. Instead, he veered her through Lake Charles, destroying the casinos there.

Thirdly, god has great plans for Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, perhaps an earthquake, to wipe out the gluttony, pornography, and sodomy residing there.

Finally, god has set his sights on Washington, DC, site of lies and blasphemy, for his final solution.

As George W. Bush just said in Austin, Praise the Lord and God Bless You.
