A few years ago I met a lady who was trying to help me but I could not make her understand that I was not going to beg God to heal me of my heart condition. She did not understand why. This is written to explain to you what I truly believe I am lead by God to write.
Jesus performed many miracles and although the Scribes and Pharisees tried to stop him those miracles caused the multitudes to adore him. He calmed the sea. He walked on water and healed the sick. He even brought one man back from the dead and the multitudes worshipped him.
Some said he was a profit. Others said he was the Christ. All loved him as long as he kept the miracles coming. He even changed water into wine.
When Jesus went through the temple and overturned the money changers tables crying, “You have turned my fathers’ house into a den of thieves,” things changed.
Now he was telling the multitudes to change their ways and they did not want this. The same people who had previously worshipped him now condemned him. He hung on that cross and performed one more miracle, although not everyone witnessed this one. Thomas did not believe it was Jesus until he saw the marks they had placed on his body.
You may ask why this affects me in the way it does and I can only tell you that I would rather believe out of faith than proof. This was what I was trying to tell this lady. Every time I would cry out to be healed the Holy Spirit interceded. It was praying for my soul and spirit. This is in the scripture, “It is appointed once for every man to die.” Shall I pray God will erase this from the Good Book?
Eternal life in a place of peace sounds better and better to me the older I get. Therefore I can only allow the spirit to pray for me. When I pray I praise God. I know not what the future holds but I know who holds the future and that is comfort enough for me. If I have an affliction to bear than so be it. Jesus took on an awful affliction for us.
This is why my prayers are as they are. This is why I realize that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord. All things…. Even heart attacks. Trust in Jesus and give your heart to God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost and you will overcome everything, even death.

i think god sent you help like that story with the flood man on roof top praying to god for help fire dept came he told them i am praying to god then the water came up even more man in a boat came to help him he told them i am praying to god for help then they left water came up higher than helicopter came to get him he said no thanks i am praying to god to help me then he dies gos to heaven he asked god why didnt you help god told him i sent the fire dept a boat and a helicopter what more could i help you with. gods will is that we are healed not suffering my people perish from lack of knowleadge by his stripes we are healed god bless you DON
If it is for the good of your soul and you ask for healing, perhaps he will heal you. If it is not for your greater good, He will not. We cannot tell God what to do but because he is compasionate, sometimes he will answer. I have heard His voice many times, sometimes with a yes and sometimes with a NO. Marguerite
Hi Lew, I know exactly what you're saying. I've been there too with a major illness in 1987. That's when I really learned how to lean on Jesus and trust Him for my recovery. Many will not understand this, my friend. We have been privileged. Great article!
