An article discussing the pros and cons of sanctioning students to leave school after completing tenth grade, instead of twelfth grade.

     Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to indulge in the reading ritual of my local newspaper. This is just another example of incompetent people sitting at the helm.
     "Frustrated with piecemeal school changes, a PRESTIGIOUS PANEL Thursday endorsed a radical overhaul of U.S. education, including a chance for most students to cut high school short and go on to college or vocational training.
     The report from the NEW COMMISSION ON THE SKILLS OF THE AMERICAN WORKFORCE touches on all aspects of education, but some of its most unusual proposals would end America's nostalgic attachment to the four year high school.
     The report calls for a rigorous tenth grade test that would allow those who pass to leave high school after two years and go on to technical or vocational training or academic work in preparation for a four year institution." No mention of who is supposed to pay for this either!
     Do you notice how well the individuals have hidden their identity behind "titles"? Who are these people hiding behind masks? Who designated them to sit in judgment of our children? Let me see if I have this right. Those nameless people are going to be the designated ones who decide which children succeed and which children do not?
     They are hiding behind the statement, "other countries have been doing this for years." Yet, they do not mention what other  countries they are referencing.
