HISTORY OF THE TRAVEL CREDENTIAL: There is an issue that involves the state of California and travel credentials. Prior to January 1, 2007, YTB credentials were acceptable. But until the next 60 days, YTB, nor any other agency will accept credentials for discounts if the RTA is a California resident. But that’s a good thing. . .this is why. Ted Lindauer, the NUMBER ONE and LONGEST PRACTICING (39 years) network marketing corporate attorney who quit his business that he started long ago just to work for YTB 6 years ago, helped Flordian RTAs get their credentials. We’ll talk about how that happened at our local area meeting this week.
Just know this. . . Last year (2006) YTB RTA Travel Store ownership grew from 5 thousand to 13,000 travel agencies in Florida. So Whatever the legislation, it’s all in how you look at it. If you think you got a lemon, put a little sweetness on it and make lemonade.
CARD MILLS: Card mill companies sells a travel card, but they do NOT sell travel. YTB is obviously selling travel because of all the awards it has received. Number 1 for two years straight with Carnival; the Pinnacle Award with Royal Carribean; the Centurion Award with Holland America, etc. etc. we could go on and on. And because YTB Travel is on the New York Stock Exchange, remember a little more than a year ago stock was $0.19 cents a share. As of today, January 17, 2007, stock is $3.95 a share. That’s ANYTHING BUT TYPICAL.
Again, we are in the midst of a REAL MARKET SHIFT. It’s the MOST POWERFUL MARKET SHIFT IN THE WORLD. Travel, if anyone out there is driving you crazy with doubt, IS THE NUMBER ONE INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD. It’s bigger than the combined, yes COMBINED industries of banking, insurance, movies, music, publishing, entertainment, real estate ALL PUT TOGETHER. If that’s not enough to shut doubters and whiners up who are whiny about “network marketing” they need to go somewhere. All we can do is pray and produce. Pray and Produce. PRAY AND PRODUCE! And keep reading Trump and Kiyosaki. People don't like them either, because they worked for something more and deserve every last dime of it.
And how they steward over it is between them and God.

So Ted contacted the State of CA Legislature and asked what the criteria were, they said there’s a form to file. YTB asked them them about the form and if they could see a copy. Guess what y'all? The California dreamers just dreamed this up. There really WAS NO FORM. The state just said it. In essence, made it up. Point-blank. . . .LIED! They just didn't want travel agents in online travel business to have discount credential power.
Now, if you all know Ted like we know Ted, and what he did for Jerome Hughes' son. . . Ted took Cali to the mat and said that “This is NOT acceptable! After some detailed planning and meeting with the proper folks, Ted said with 100 percent confidence and assurance that YTB will be able to offer the credentials in 60 days. Why, because California lied. So now, regardless of the agency or travel source, anyone in an online business should be able to get access to a credentialing check-list form from California. (So, guess that The Terminator ain’t that tough.) Melissa urges all California RTAs to get certified ASAP!!! When the rest of the corporate world understands that YTB is bigger than credentials, then they’ll have to just move out of the way.
TRAVEL WEEKLY: Travel Weekly is one of the most reputable sources of travel info in the travel world. And Travel Weekly thinks very lowly of network marketers who pretend to be travel agencies. And when Travel Weekly called YTB, Founder and President of YTB Travel and Cruises, Kim Sorensen, got very suspicious. So when they called, and Kim found out about it, he got on the phone with TW and questioned them as to why they wanted an interview.
In other words, Kim got all UP in their business because he did not want them to lie about YTB like California lied to YTB thinking we were like a card mill. So the person who was fishing around about YTB finally caved and said to Kim that the only reason that Travel Weekly called YTB was because they didn’t know how to categorize us. They’d never seen a creature like YTB before. It was a travel agency, a networking company, a philanthropic organization and among the biggest they’d ever encountered.
Bottom line, Travel Weekly cannot label YTB. But they did say this is all they could come up with: (Are you smiling. . . start smiling now. . . :TW also said to YTB that out of more than 30,000 travel agencies in the country, YTB is in the TOP 50!
About The Travel Weekly Top 50: The 50th on the list makes a low amount of revenue of $100,000,000. We’ve got to be higher than #50 because last year alone they did over half a billion in travel revenues. They didn’t want to give YTB a number but the corporation figures using Travel Weekly standards, and knowing of all the other agencies and revenues that we’re more than likely in the top 20, maybe even the Top 10 by the time the YTB Team Vision convention is over.
This year YOUR YTB COMPANY, your MINI-TRAVELOCITY FRANCHISE is expected to double that to at least $1,000,000,000.00 in travel (that’s a billion) for 2007, minimum. DIRECTORS IN YTB: One year ago, when Kenny and I purchased our travel store, YTB only had 26 directors. Now, less than 1 year later (our anniversary date is January
YTB has a total of 88 directors. They gave out to 25 of them a total of $27,000,000.00 this weekend. Jerome Hughes picked up 1.6 million last weekend. He’s earning over a million in a 12 month period. Just 7 months ago, Jerome’s wife Charlene was very skeptical. Even after his 1st 12 months when he earned more that $500,000, Charlene didn’t see it.
Charlene finally broke down, prayed to the Lord and she said that the Lord said back to her. . . “Can’t you see?”
You know before the stores were built for Wal-Mart, people doubted the concept. Before Starbucks, and before Microsoft, people doubted. Where else in America are they doing that? Typically corporations take those type of bonuses to the people at the top of the corporation. But not YTB.
We cannot falter every time there’s a new regulation. The state of FL rose to the challenge and said they were going to help YTB become a better company. We own a mini-Travelocity franchise and get the chance to earn bonuses that no job or company would ever pay people.
Last year, CA and Atlanta were tied with RTAs. Now they produce twice as many and produce more RTAs than the ATL. Whose team? Guess again. . . . The vision is big. TEAM VISION is mammoth and getting bigger! So don’t get sidetracked over every little legislative political hiccup that comes along. Get busy, do what you gotta do, and know that the best is yet to come if you give it your best for just a little while. I mean gee whiz it ain't like workin' for 45 plus years to be flat broke or dead at 65. . . ."Welcome to Walmart!"
So team family, by the grace of God and the love of all that’s right and decent, STAY PLUGGED IN. GET YOUR TICKETS FOR THE CONVENTION! . . .and don’t let political fleas from political windbags in corporate America this trip you up because it’s all a matter of time. Patience is a virtue.
As for those who whine: Know this. Do not spend your time with those people. All we can do is pray for them. Pray and Produce. . . Pray and Produce.
