Here's a review of the second novel in the Osgoode Trilogy, FINAL PARADOX. It is soon to appear on the Complusive Reader website. Why not try out both books Conduct in Question and Final Paradox. Im working hard on the finishing touches for the third, A Trial of One to be released this year.

Pages: A review of Final Paradox by Mary E. Martin

Final Paradox is book two in a trilogy, yet it can stand independently. A one time attorney, Mary E. Martin, brings the story down where the rest of us can easily understand the intricacy’s of law. Characters are introduced subtly in an original plotline spiced up with a little psychological horror.

Harry Jenkins a good guy, although an attorney, merely seeks truth and love in a world
of dark deceit, fraud, and greed. All of the players are in some way connected to some
shares for a proposed drug to stave off memory loss.. Millions of the elite were defrauded in this scam. In helping Norma, an elderly lady, whose mind comes and goes, Harry finds himself at the helm of defense as Norma sues George Pappas and Archibald Brinks, two unsavory men involved in the beginning of Elixicorp.

Norma is the widow of the man, (Arthur) responsible for the fraud. Norma is looking for justice or is it revenge? It is difficult to discern with her occasional lucidity and then complete madness. Archibald (Archie) is Norma’s nephew and has been giving her pills
supposedly from her doctor, for her arthritis. George Pappas is the mastermind behind
organized crime (a gangster) who will stop at nothing to find the “lost” shares. George kills Archie to narrow the field of his search. Now he sends his henchmen to kill Norma.

Meanwhile Harry is dealing with his aged father (Stanley) running away from every nursing home he is placed in. Finally one of Stanley’s neighbors finds him at the
bottom of the cellar stairs with a gun in his hand. Stanley’s fall prevented him from
committing suicide. Hospitalized and comatose, Harry can’t deal with the feelings he
has had for years. When his little sister died unexpectedly, Stanley withdrew inside
himself shutting out everyone including his wife and his son. Harry is still carrying around the feelings of distance from his father and now he can add worry over Stanley’s suicide attempt, to his feelings of inadequacy.

Final Paradox is book two in a trilogy, yet it can stand independently. A one time attorney, Mary E. Martin, brings the story down where the rest of us can easily understand the intricacy’s of law. Characters are introduced subtly in an original plotline spiced up with a little psychological horror.
