Pittsburgh is my Paris. Remember, even flash fiction needs to be grounded in a particular place. You know your home town. Use its flavor to flavor your stories. Don't let your stories take place in any/every town. The trick is to make your home town any/every town.
I have had the luck to go through one ondred countries and a few hundred cities, it is amazing how the brain can compose a town of a city taking a little of this one and a little of that one....
