This article will be very short. Someone once said about my stories that there seemed to be lots of life going on around my main characters. "La Dolce Vita" on my AD is a perfect example of this. Remember, your main characters need a backdrop to act out the story against. The backdrop gives the story "visual" depth and visual depth is a good thing. Visual depth gives verisimilitude to a story. The dictionary defines verisimilitude as: appearance of being true or real.
Even though I'm writing fiction I want my stories to have the apperance of being true or real.
