With today's mass youth violence, Fill My Eyes centers around a small four year old boy in Salt Lake City. He is surrounded by intolerance, bigotry, sexual repression, religious mania, neglect and indifference. Raised since birth by a conflicted older brother who is struggling to overcome his own past, the boy's every movement is based on his brother/caregiver's shifting moods. The book poses many questions that are answered in an ugly explosive climax that reiterates the loss of respect in our family values.
Fill My Eyes has no strong family ties with the exception of the two brothers. Told over a 24 hour period of time from several first person accounts including the small boy, the reader is given a better understanding of the older brother, who has no voice in this book. Character names were withheld for several reasons: symobolically and strengthen the strong mystery thread of the novel.
