I was a Stock Broker on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for 23 years; i have seen it all and what i learned during those days when the market tumbled was that money and wealth is the main foundation people value their life around. I remember back in 1987 when the sky was falling; everyone saying life was over, i have no more money, it will take decades for a recovery; fear was the mantra and nothing could break the tide. Today is no different. Fear has gripped the world with a hold so tight that it blinds everyone from seeing any possibilities of a better tomorrow.
Where do you turn for help and guidance? It is not the TV. This morning i turned on Bloomberg and the first words are, "The carnage continues around the world, 2 trillion of retirement savings gone." This will not raise your spirits and uplift your soul for the day ahead. I realize the situation we are in but if most of us think our worth is in our Bank Account then we are all fools! Today many of you will leave your house and it will be a beautiful sunny day, the birds will be singing and the sky will be a deep shade of blue; but you will not notice this. What is racing through your mind will negate this beauty and cause only turmoil and negativity to be your main focus. What a shame! What i am here to tell you is this lesson of life we are going through is that our lives must be balanced and where we find this balance is in God and our faith. Like I've said i have seen it all before and the ones who make it through during tough times are the ones with a strong foundation in God. Get away from the news; stop inhaling their words as if they are the food you need to survive. God did not get us here, so don't blame him. It is what it is so move forward, work on improving your faith, hug your children, kiss your spouse, and breathe in the morning air that God blesses us with everyday!
