The yearly story of our family Easter is a little late.
Our family celebrates Easter, most hoildays and birthdays together. Those that can attend are always welcomed with open arms .
Easter Sunday was bright and sunny. A slight breeze was blowing just enough to keep us cool.
Tables and chairs were once again set up outside under the huge oak tree in our back yard. The suns rays danced on the moving lake waters creating glittering tiny rows of waves. It was a sight I never tire of seeing.
Two long tables held a variety of foods. Baked Ham, fresh smoked turkey, stringbeans with red potatoes and bacon, ambrosia ,cole slaw, 2 macroni salads, jello with fresh fruit, applesauce, blueberry nut bread , sodas, punch and icetea... Pies, cake and icecream were for dessert.
Twenty one sat and bowed their heads as Grandpa Judson said ,"Grace". We humbly thanked our Lord for letting us betogether once again on this special day of days.
It seems as my husband and I grow older, family times are becoming more cherished. Time is slipping quicky by. The grandkids are growing up so fast and soon will have families of their own.
We've finally reached our golden years and we reap the rewards of being parents and grandparents. We're ever mindful of the blessings that our Lord has bestowed upon us.....
I hope you all had a joyous Easter!
We sure did.

| Your Easter gathering sounds wonderful. I recall those days of old when we had huge gatherings with all family members attending. They're all nearly gone now and I really miss those friendly occasions. Your description of that table of food sure revved up my appetite. |
