Small examples of divine intervention. All odds go out the window because of divine intervention. There is no randomness, there are not coincidences.

I was listening to Joel Osteen tonight.  He was speaking about God going before us.  This is a small story I wanted to share.  Once when my daughter was flying home to Charlotte from New York, the flight was late arriving.  The flight attendant asked for people who had connecting flights to get off first.  The couple beside my daughter spoke French and didn't understand what the flight attendant was saying.  My daughter spoke enough French to be able to explain to the couple what was going on.  What are the odds?  Actually I find that any time someone says "what are the odds" I realize that randomness doesn't exist.  Odds cannot be calculated because you cannot insert divine intervention into an equation.  P.S. My daughter also found herself seated on a bench in NY when she was considering taking sign language.  She knew the alphabet and the person who sat beside her was deaf.  They conversed by sign.  My daughter realized quickly that this was the equivalent of God standing in front of her saying "Take the class."

These are a couple of examples of why I have never believed in coincidences.  The word should either not exist or be redefined to mean a purposeful action trying to disguise itself as an accidental action or divine intervention.
