When you first start out in all your innocence of creating a website either by yourself or by a professional we need to know a few basic concepts before we even start.
If you are not aware of what is really needed on a website to really produce large amounts of traffic and sales it will become sick and fail. See below:
· What does your website need?
· What is the goal of this website?
· Is it to attract potential buyers for something offered for sale on your website?
· If you are a web designer you know how your website is going to look.
· You have already chosen the color scheme.
What is important:
· The color scheme needs to be easy to see and read.
· Not glaring and turning off people before they even land on your site.
· It needs to be easy to navigate.
· Simple is the best policy.
· It needs pictures.
But after all this which is pretty much common sense it needs some basic organization.
Auto Responder
· It needs a statistical tracing device called an auto responder.
· In this way you can keep track of how many hits you have had on any given day.
· It will also keep track of the e-mails of the people who have hit on your site.
· From this you can run a news letter.
· Or contact them about any number of things.
Telephone seminars
· With the list from your tracking device you can put together telephone seminars.
· You can even set this up without any cost. For free.
Secure Site
· If you are selling a product you need a secure site.
· You can use pay pal which is what the majority of websites use.
· The most secure site is when you use a company like VeriSign ®.
· This is a symbol which is used at the bottom of your website.
· It means it is secure but this is an expensive logo to have.
· There are many other secure companies with different pricing.
· Check them out.
· You can have both Pay Pal and a company like VeriSign ®.
Merchant Account
· Another way to have a secure way of receiving credit cards from your website is by a Merchant Account.
· Not all banks offer this kind of account.
· It is expensive and hard to set up.
Domain Names
· It must say something about your and what you are selling.
· It will help people searching to find your website.
Product
· If you already know what you are selling on your website use pictures and a short introduction of what the product is and what it does.
· Have a shopping cart available for your product to be sold easily.
Drop Shipping
· If you are going to sell different types of merchandise from your website consider looking into drop shipping.
· It is the easiest, fasted and most efficient way to go.
Search Engines
· You can pay for search engine software.
· On Google you can use it free.
· This tool is so valuable when selling any kind of product.
· It is what all large companies use before they even decide to sell a product.
Reverse Search Engines:
· This is a tool on Google.
· Google has many wonderful tools and advice to help you for Free.
· Key words are what is important.
· Search under every kind of combination to find your results.
