The old saying of "When God closes a door, somewhere He always opens a window." means more to me as I have aged over the years. I want to reword that to “When a door is closed, somewhere God has provided a window.”

The old saying of "When God closes a door, somewhere He always opens a window." means more to me as I have aged over the years.  I want to reword that to “When a door is closed, somewhere God has provided a window.”  I realize that God expects us to "open the windows" for ourselves and for others even or especially in the instances where He did not close the door, we closed the door.  In other cases, the door was never from God so we are better off looking for His window.  Jesus is God's infinite "open window".   I have closed many of my own doors during my life.  One of those doors, which I left slightly cracked, is my taking control of my weight.  I will not having that unfinished part of my life glaring at me through a crack in a proverbial door.  I plan to push that window open once again and squeeze through it.  I will not give up thinking that I am too large to get out.  If I get stuck, I will be Winnie the Pooh and try a little everyday with support pushing me on until I shimmy through it.  I have found my window.  My head is out and I am looking around at the wonderful world awaiting me.  I just need to find all the right support to push me while I pray to Christ to help pull me through the window.

I have faith.

Best Wishes,

Karen Nivens
