Did you know that many products we assume are grown and processed in our own country are actually produced in another country ? Now to some that may not matter but I like to know where my food is coming from for obvious reasons. There is a lot of deceptive labelling indicating Canadian or American food when actually only the distributor is American or Canadian. The only sure way to know is by reading the Bar codes usually found on the back of the package. The first two numbers indicate the country of origin. You might be surprised if you check your cupboard or fridge. Here are some of the country codes for your information.
690-691-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 FRANCE
40 - 44 GERMANY
471 .... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK
BUY USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.
Imagine how we could help our farmers and manufacturers. Yes little old you and I could help keep and create jobs at home if we all made an effort to do that. Millions of us make up the 99%. Let us all pay a little more if we have to for that product that starts with a zero and keep our dollars flowing at home instead of flowing away to never be seen here again.
