Fashion Designs from Free People. I LOVE this line. JPC

Free People

I begin this month's Fashion article featuring the clothing Line Free People. I accidentally ran across it on an ad at one of the popular social sites. Right away, I loved the name, it was catchy, and in this day and age we all long to be free. I was happy to say that when I clicked the link to check out these so-called Free People, I was pleasantly surprised.

I found an array of skirts, jeans, dresses, accessories etc. that all had a ring of freedom, fun, being sassy/flirty & shouted youth. I am not dead . . . yet! At the tender age of Fifty-three, I am careful not to dress like a teenager but this line has something for everyone. I for one will never dress like an old lady. My Mom did not and neither will I.

The clothing line, depending on your budget can be a bit pricey. For the well-informed shopper please do check their Sale page. The line offers clothes that enhance a woman's femininity. I found stylish and eclectic attire; from every-day wear to designs that are suitable for the most prominent art gallery showing. The key words are “Free People” and I assure you that by wearing these unique designs, you will feel . . . courageous, free-spirited and maybe a bit sassy.

Free People has three wholesale showrooms - in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago with boutiques throughout the country. Their designs can also be found at Finer stores, such as Macy's and Lord & Taylor , to name a couple. For your convenience Free People has an online shopping site. I will include a slide show to give you an idea of what to expect and also a link to read how they began.

Enjoy!

Free People, Our Story :

Back in the 1970's, a young man named Dick Hayne planted a seed in the maze of streets and trees that make up West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He opened a store and called it Free People. Free People nurtured the young people who lived there and shopped there, who looked for a little of their own freedom in the clothes they wore.

As Dick's store grew from one to two, the name was changed from Free People to Urban Outfitters.
