600 Rabbis Sign an Endorsement for Obama
According to Nathan Guttman’s article in the Forward, Ira Forman, the Obama campaign Jewish Outreach Director sees the endorsement of Obama, signed by 600 rabbis, as an acknowledgement of “the President’s deep commitment to the security of the state of Israel and his dedication to a policy agenda that represents the values of the overwhelming majority of the American Jewish community”
Is the separation of church and state no longer in force? As per Jerusalem Post and Forward, now, more than 600 rabbis, mostly reform, show their support for the one they believe will win the presidency for the second term. The Obama campaign thinks that by putting the rabbis in front, it will attract the Jewish voters. The article further says, “Many rabbis, however, already expressed their willingness to play an active role.” I wonder what kind of active role that would be without legal pitfalls? Is their signature on the list of any relevance or just an Obama Prop.?
It is known in history that the Jewish voters didn’t always make the best choice. It happened in the past that Jewish people elected the one who turned against them.
I don’t have any proof that Obama was the best president for either the Jews or for Israel. Since he was elected, Obama was constantly in disagreement with Netanyahu. He was a very poor host for Netanyahu, putting to shame his Muslim upbringing, which greatly emphasizes generous hospitality. A Muslim proverb says, “The one who enters your home deserves more respect than your father.” I wonder what kind of education our president received in Asia. An Asian proverb says, “The one who is not able to honor the stranger and the man of another tribe is not worthy of being called the son of a noble nation.” As the honorable and intelligent French Prime Minister Mendes France said, “Not the number of people in a group or party makes its strength, but the quality of each member.”
President Obama, it is not by rolling out the reform rabbis list that all Jews will run after you. Don’t think that they do not understand what you are doing to America. A good president will not be on a fundraising tour instead of being in the White House with Democrats and Republicans to find common ground on how to create jobs and how to make business flourish, as America was always the wonderful and the strongest country on earth.
The time has passed when Roosevelt’s, Kennedy's and Clinton’s Democratic party was an attraction for the Jews. Hearing all the dirty campaign tricks, without any consideration for our youths, who listen every day to the garbage and lies displayed on our screen by the election campaign, launched by the democratic leaders, if not by Obama himself, I feel that I will not associate myself with such lies and dishonesty.
I don’t like to exhibit the unpleasant and uncivilized words and outright lies, which I am exposed to as soon I open my TV screen. Mr. President, say it once and for all that you could not perform what you promised during the previous election. You promised so many things. I don’t blame you; it was too much for you. But please admit it. After all, there is nothing better than honesty.
