IS IT TRUE? THAT OLD CLICHÉ THAT SAYS, ‘… IF EVERY BODY IS DOING IT…IT MUST BE RIGHT...’ IS IT TRUE?

IF THIS IS TRUE THEN, WHAT DID JESUS* MEAN WHEN HE SAID, “… THE PATH LEADING TO DESTRUCTION IS BROAD…FOR MANY (PRACTICALLY EVERYBODY) WALKS THERE, BUT NARROW IS THE PATH LEADING TO LIFE…ONLY A FEW WALK THERE…”(MATT 7:13-14)? IT IS CLEAR THAT HE WAS WARNING US ABOUT THE DANGER OF DOING WHAT EVERBODY IS DOING. IN OTHER WORDS, THE DANGER OF… ‘FOLLOWING THE CROWD’.  

SHALL WE WORSHIP ALMIGHTY GOD*…OR HUMAN BEINGS?

When I pray, shall I pray to God or… another human being, who is just like me?

Who shall I look to for deliverance, to God…or another human being, who is just like me?

For me, there is only one answer. I will look to Jesus. Why? Because, human beings are born of flesh and blood and are vulnerable like I am. They sin like I do(1Jhn 1:10&Ps 146:3-7)). They live and they breath and I reason, may not wake up in the morning, like me (Jam 4:14). But, God…is…the morning!  And as sure as morning will always be, whether here or in our eternal home, He will always be( 2Pet 1:19 & Rev 2:28). I choose Jesus! I don’t know any one more trustworthy than…Him!

Values have become so twisted in this day and time that the only thing which can be used as a honest 'balance' in deciphering right or wrong is the Word of God. The 'signs' of the time that exist in our world has invaded our government, our churches and all other areas of our existence and sadly substantiates the state of our continuous 'decay'. 

I mean...how do I begin to beg a person for tranquility in my life when they did not give me life(Ps 146:3-6)?  How do I pay homage to a person who intimidates me…when my Heavenly Father is in charge of all that happens to me( Ps 118:8-9, Ps 20:7)? Is not a person who bullies and oppresses another an express image of satan, who is the true enemy of God(Mal 3:5, Ps 62:10, 2Corn 11:3)? Should I kneel to such a person?  And if they are not the express personification of God’s enemy(2Corn 2:11) then why would anyone persecute an individual whose only guilt is a refusal to look upon them, or anyone else save Almighty God for that matter, as Lord of their life( Mat 6:24)?

I find that people ‘follow the crowd’ and in some instances it is because they are afraid not to. Some follow because there is ‘acceptance’ and ‘companionship’ in 'the crowd'. Everyone is doing the same things and  it’s so much easier just to 'follow'.  There are no ‘objections’ on the broad, well used road.  And if anyone should object and decide that they don't want to go along with the crowd…well, force them to follow…or else.  

For me, who has chosen the narrow road, there is absolutely no attraction in the power of ‘force’. I do not desire to be a part of anything that ‘demands’ my participation. I do not desire to be a part of a carnal ‘movement’ that celebrates and encourages the coercion and intimidation of those who embrace their God given right to ‘not do’ what everyone else is doing…who dare, through conviction…to be ‘different’.  You see with me it is not about being religious or spiritual, but about a commitment to follow Jesus to the best of my ability and to do the ‘right thing’. Not because I have to…or someone begged me to, but because the Love of God lives in me.

I refuse to mistreat a person because they don’t see things the way that I do. I will not hassle a person because they choose not to reverence, recognize or salute me in the way that I feel they should(Ps 62:10). In this world, there are many such ‘dictatorship regions’ where this sort of harassment is the ‘norm’.  But, I recognize that  great sacrifices have been made for me, which enables me to take the stand which I have taken.

The greatest and most influential sacrifice every made in all the earth's history is, without any question,  Calvary! For it was on Calvary that The Son of God, Jesus Christ, shed His Precious Blood that I might be ‘Free’.  ‘Free’!!!  ‘Free’…to turn away from the ‘crowd’ and follow Him. His Sacrifice was for all human beings who desire to do the ‘right thing’ simply because…it is ‘right’. To be kind without having been ‘begged’ to do so is…God. For God is Love(1Jhn 4:8). Then there are the sacrifices of my forefathers. Those God-fearing ‘foragers’  who formed, shaped and drenched the soil of America with their blood, sweat and tears that I might be ‘Free’…in every way. I claim those ‘Inalienable Rights’ for which they died. I claim my citizenship of Heaven and Earth! For I am a born again Christian, born in and of these United States of America!  And I declare that I have only one ‘Sargent’, one ‘Captain’, only one ‘General’ in my life to whom I bow, daily. His name is… Jesus!

Thus, I impose the question again; is it true ? That old cliché that says if everyone is doing it, it must be right…is it true ? If everyone is doing what I don’t want to do…should I do it just to please everyone else?  I think not.

This then is my pledge; if you are following the King of Kings…and I’m not talking about church membership or spirituality but about a heart  cleansed and filled with the Love of God…then I am with you. If you are not following the King of Kings…then I am not with you. It is that simple  and there are no 'signs' of the time needed to understand this.

So what will you do with me...? Kill me, or Love me?

*I am a Christian. And as a Christian, I believe that Jesus, God, Savior, Redeemer, Jehovah, I AM, Heavenly Father, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, etc…are all the same person.  I believe in the Trinity. Which means I believe that there is ‘One’ God and that there are Three Persons in that ‘One’ God, as Isaiah prophesied (Is 7:14 & 9:6). God, who can do all things,  performs Three Different Functions in our lives; He is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.(Jhn 1:1&14,1Jhn 5:7 & 1Tim 3:16).
