The best situation for Israel is the status quo. Jews care about what American Jews think of their leaders. As an American Jew, I can say, that Obama and his Jewish advisors and followers seem to know very little about the Jewish history and the history of the Middle East or they want to ignore our history.
Their knowledge is based on what they learned in college and in the intellectual forums and not from actually knowing the people on both sides, their language, history, their religion and their way of life. Do they know that the Muslim religion interdicts to any Muslim to sign any peace treaty with the Jews, as this would involve recognition and giving away land which once was inhabited by Muslims?
Does Obama know that the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) including Jerusalem was the cradle of the Jewish people and was destroyed by the Romans? That the Jewish people all over the world have been praying and dreaming for thousands of years about Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jericho, and that part of the Jewish population have inhabited those places and have never left since ancient times? Except of course, a minority of Jews like Jstreet, who preferred to follow Obama and his pivotal policy.
Do Obama and his Jewish advisors know about Theodor Herzl, about Moses Hess, about Leon Pinsker, about the Dreyfus Affair? Does he know about the struggle with the war against the Greek occupation and Mattatyahou and his fight against his occupier? About the Roman occupation, the Byzantine occupation, the crusaders, the army of Napoleon, the Ottoman Empire and Ze'ev Jabotinsky (leader, author, orator, soldier, and founder of the Jewish Self-Defense Organization in Odessa). Along with Joseph Trumpeldor, he was a founder of the Jewish Legion of the British army in World War I, as well as a number of Jewish organizations such as Irgun, Beitar, Hatzohar.
Obama forgets that Jews all over the world are united with Israel for its existence and well-being, whether they say it or not and no Jew would like to be blamed for giving away the cradle of the Jewish existence. They feel for Israel the same way as Catholics feel for the Vatican and Muslims feel for Mecca. Jews are offended by the "inference that Israel owes its existence to the Holocaust," which was part of the Cairo address. The Jews should unite with any party which understands them and understands their history, their feelings, and their suffering.
Obama's thinking and policy are that there would be peace, if Israel gave away part of the land which represents the Israel of today and not the Israel before the British divided the entire land and gave away sixty percent to king Abdullah, which today represent the new country of Jordan. Obama still thinks that Iran would open the door for negotiations about their nuclear program. Yes, this would be the kind of peace that Israel has known when it relinquished the Lebanon territory to Hezbollah, and the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians.
It would also be the kind of peace that opens the door for Iran to mix itself with Hezbollah and Hamas. Is that what Obama has in mind? No! Mr. President, you are wrong. If you like change, please change this path. Do not dictate, as you promised, their path and their history to any people. I believe it would be better for the United States and the world. Has anyone asked how come that all the Arab countries have so much land, of which no single country in the world has ever contested the legitimacy of ownership by those Arab countries? Who has traced the borders of those countries?.
