The Reason Jesus Came
Jesus didn't come to change the world, but to change sinners that are in the world. Around this time of year there are many bible movies on TV. It seems like for the most part the message is always Jesus came to change the world. They say things like he taught us how to love one another and keep the golden rule, etc., and to be a good example and teacher. But in all actuality, this is not really true . Jesus came to save sinners, not to be a good teacher and example, even though he was, being that he was the perfect sinless Lamb of God. His main purpose, though, in coming to earth was to save sinners who would trust him in their heart for forgiveness of their sins.
1 Timothy 1:15: This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Many false religions claim to follow the teachings of Jesus, but without being born again of the spirit, there is no way possible anyone could ever follow the teachings of Jesus because our natural hearts are sinful and black. The first thing that one must do is to trust Jesus as their savior and then God imputes his righteousness to them.
Romans 4:5-7: But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6: Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7: Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Matthew 1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
