I thank Senator Menendez from New Jersey for trying to tell Abbas that he must do more. But now the world can see what it means to make peace with the Palestinians. What kind of neighbors are they? It is irrelevant if they are from Abbas’s people or Hamas’s people. How can you make peace with people like those?
What kind of culture do they have from their parents? The violence we see today is the direct consequence of Obama’s and Kerry’s attitudes and policies towards Israel and part of the Arab world. These policies are closely followed by the Europeans who forgot their weakness during WWII and now they think they can allow themselves to feel that they are the strongest in the world. Ms. Federica Mogherini who recently started representing the European Union believes she can scare the Israelis.
I wonder if she had the courtesy of sending condolences to the families of the victims of today’s terror attack, like some leaders did. Maybe this event made her change her mind about imposing her views on Israel.
In 1967 Israel succeeded to defeat Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and others and to free Jerusalem, while the Israeli population and army were less than half of what they are today. Now Israel can do it again with better conditions and new advanced weaponry that even the United States does not have.
Israel should not fear anyone; it has enough guts and power. It could teach those people once and for all, including all those who encourage the Palestinians to act against Israel. Having said this, I know that Israel is more conscientious then anyone and will abstain from doing anything like this. Only if it is attacked, Israel will definitely defend itself.
In my view, our administration, be it Obama or John Kerry, is wrong in having hastily initiated the peace process between Abbas and Israel. They knew well that the parties had negotiated many times in the past without success. They only gave false hope without thoroughly studying the case. They knew that nothing would come out of it, even before starting.
They just wanted to show to the world that they can succeed, after not having succeeded wherever they intervened in Arab countries, be it in Tunisia, in Egypt, or in Libya. In those countries the population has suffered from leaders affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Ennahda, or Hamas.
In 2011, the New York Times wrote, “U.S. Groups Helped Nurture Arab Uprisings.” In our country, Obama’s policies have failed as well, such as Obamacare, green energy, etc., etc. All he undertakes is based on false premises and lies. There was no need to mix ourselves in the affairs of the Arab countries and even less into those of our ally Israel. In fact, the Obama Administration has betrayed Israel during war time, when Israel needed us the most.
