"Wins" are quite disproportionate from "Losses."
But the Excitement of the Possibility of Winning ...
Draws You like a Moth to a Flame!
A Second visit to Vegas in 2004 for a Pool Tourney ...
Yielded about a $600 Profit ...
Still "Hooked"!
Occasional trips to Charlestown, W.Va Casino ...
One Time a Jackpot Hit for $1,200.
Like IT the best, as Drinks are "Free" ...
And ... you can SMOKE there!
Visited all Three Casinos in Delaware ...
No Smoking!
No LUCK !
One trip to Atlantic City years ago ...
Smoking ... OK ...
But ... Still No LUCK!
Then, years ago, Maryland started building Casinos ...

My father was rather addicted to slots. He claimed to have one 4 or 5 jackpots over the years my mother and he tried out casinos from South Texas to Northern Wisconsin. He never told me what it cost him to win those jackpots. I've been playing the slots very infrequently since the 1960s in Reno and have always had a very small limit… Lately, $100, and have come away very few times with any winnings.
I have seen little old ladies tying up 3 machines at a time, frantically pulling the levers (before pushbutton machines lost our money faster) in a trance over the sound and possibility of winning (big?).
The Indian tribes are raking it in from senior citizens who thought that "All injuns are injuns" from watching cowboy and Indian movies in their childhood. Sweet revenge.
There was a time I enjoyed gambling by playing the slots at one of the big houses in my area. I'd only go there with a set amount. It could be a very short stay. To me, the sound of bells was music to my ears. I haven't been to a casino in years, but you bring every bit of it back. There's no need for me to go back because of the cliché, "The house always wins."
LOL!!! I went to gamble one time and quit after I lost forty bucks. I was waitressing...doubles every day....I raised my kids by myself with no "help", child support, welfare, alimony.......never got any of those thus I have a hard time parting with money.......unless it's for the grandkids!! You must have been born under a lucky star!
