Do You have any "Pet Peeves"?
Impairment ?

The thesaurus provides several synonyms
for the Title above:
damage, harm, deterioration, disability, handicap.
The local Transportation departments call them:
traffic calmers, speed bumps, humps.
I call them Freaking Impairments to normal traffic flow!
In the nine years that I have been delivering medications
to Sick People in Baltimore County & Baltimore City
'they' have multiplied like Bunny Rabbits
or even worse
Roaches!
Development by development
Street by street
Road by road
OBSTRUCTIONS!
Sometimes, there are three or more
of these damned 'humps'
within one lousy block of travel!
Gas
Brake
Gas
Brake
Gas
Brake
What a Royal Pain in the proverbial Arse!
I often wonder if maybe the transportation
department 'Egg-Heads' are in cahoots with
Auto Repair Shops?
Bump your Tires
Buy New Ones!
Wear out your Brakes
Buy New Ones!
Pay for Front-End Alignments!
Wrack your nerves
take pills!
Grow ulcers in your belly ...
Get 'Road Rage' ...
As these Impairments constantly spread
I also frequently wonder if
the 'Idiots' in charge will someday
get the bright idea to really expand
and put them Everywhere!
On Major Routes
Highways
Byways
Boulevards
Beltways
Oh, Yeah, to be Sure
This would Reduce Speeding, all right
Bring Traffic to a Screeching Halt
Cause Jams
Waste Gas
DUH ???
Other Impairments, or Obstructions
to Traffic Flow
are the Damned Speed Cameras!
They also are growing by Leaps and Bounds
almost every School Area now has one!
Trust me
I know
have paid over $200.00 in Tickets
At $40.00 a Pop!
The amazing thing is that
In Nine Years of Work
Have Never Ever gotten one
while driving Personal miles
Only During Work hours!
Go Figure!
This holds True for Two other Drivers also
Sick People Need Their Meds
and we try to deliver them Quickly!
Oh
Yeah
The Rx Owners don't reimburse those Tickets
We 'Eat' Them!
C'est La Vie!

thought provoking read, well done
A few years ago we were checking out a development on Lake Conroe. Driving in on an open road (more like a driveway to the development) I was looking at the houses and how they were laid out in the distance doing about 45 miles an hour when we hit one of those out of the blue that I didn't see. I almost lost control and would have hit my head on the roof of the van had I not been wearing a seatbelt. It was a really scary experience that I'm glad I never had again.

Love ya!
