Get the boxcars ready! Trump Wants Old People To Die So He Can Get A Stock Market Surge.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson on March 23, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a known Trump supporter, says old people in Trump’s cult are willing to die for Trump’s economy. He says, “I just think there are lots of grandparents out there in this country like me, I have six grandchildren, that what we all care about and what we love more than anything are those children, and I want to live smart and see through this, but I don’t want the whole country to be sacrificed, and that’s what I see.”
He is implying that that America is finished as a country if we practice common-sense public health measures to stem the coronavirus epidemic.even worse, he is suggesting that seniors should be willing to die to save the economy.
It is people like this who are returning us to the Nazi racism of the thirties. First, it is the immigrants at the southern borders. Now it is seniors! Who’s next? The disabled? Political dissidents? Perhaps union workers. Perhaps you.
I cannot help but remember the famous quotation by Martin Niemöller:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Hitler committed suicide in 1945; but his ideas still on. As they say,”The wheel keeps spinning Even though the hamster is dead.”
So! Get the boxcars ready! Sounds like a return of the Nazis to me.
Gov. Greg Abbott, a very rich (from a lawsuit when he was paralyzed) Republican, just announced a "Stay-At-Home," order for the entire state. Abbott is no friend to the disabled in the state of Texas who are not rich like him. But in this case, he is heeding the warnings coming out of New York City and trying to ease the spread of the virus to the vulnerable like he is, because of his underlying paralysis. I'm glad that he is not following the stupid advice of his Lt. Governor.

One caveat. I am in the high risk category, both by age and by my compromised, paralyzed lung capacity and other issues related to paralysis and disease. I am also very familiar with long-term care and its cost to the nation and our economy because of the Hippocratic oath and medicine that is keeping Americans alive a long time after serious illnesses have placed them in nearly total incapacity. Many should have a choice to leave rather than have very expensive care averaging $5000 per month, a wage that many an American would envy but doesn't get, particularly the hard-working caregivers that must keep these people alive under the honor we give the elderly. I am ready to go. I've accomplished all I need to do. My condition has me self quarantined at home since last October paying caregivers to keep me alive and well. Without caregivers, I would probably die within a day or two from dehydration and inability to leave my wheelchair or my bed, both very painful if I had to stay for more than 16 hours in either.
