Standby for news!

Hinkly Dinkly Reporting
Standby for Olympic News.

I’m here so, Trust me folks…The Olympics Are Over!
All the real reporters have gone home.

And what a wonderful Olympics it was.
Congratulations to ALL the athletes! And those who fell down.
The medals have been decided.
Today’s production is for everyone who likes pageantry…Pomp and Circumstance…that sort of thing.

You’ll be hearing comments like, “Oh, I was so surprised with this “Participation” medal. I thought they only gave these to little kids?
I wanted Gold, but everybody beat me.”
Are those tears of joy?
“I wish.”
Maybe you didn’t practice enough?”
“Are you kidding? I practiced for Five years!”
Five years?
“Yes! First I wasn’t very good. Then I heard someone say, ’You don’t have to be amazing to start, but you need to start to be amazing.’
So I started.
Took me a year to be amazing. Then I started to get bored. My Amazement went downhill, so I started training hard for the next year or two. Then The Olympics arrived. I was in my best shape ever.
And I won a participation medal.”
Well, at least you tried.
“You know where you can stick that crap!”
Will we see you in the next Olympics?
“Sure, I’m gonna start training tomorrow…NOT!”

This reporter thinks we’ll see her again in four years…of course the next Olympics is in three years.
We’ll be there to see the look on her face.

Hinkly Out,
By George
