I knew intuitively then, what few adults know now, that it is wrong and sad, to cheat ones self in life!

Better Late Than Never
Titus Livius (59 BC - 17 AD),

Yep, good quote Titus! How simple, yet profoundly wrapped and adorned in eloquence to be certain as well! Oh yes, we have heard it before! And quoted it as well in parroted fashion and form! Seldom allowing the ever present wisdom to invade and imbue our very core of essence.

Better love late, than to have never loved at all, better dreams tasted in golden years, than never to have drank of such manifest passion at all! The goblet of dreams fulfilled, and happiness yet gained, rides saddled upon our ability to persevere in stalwart fashion and form. often this trek of valiance stands us directly in the face of obstacles amany, but usually just us!

When young I listened to many an adult, sadly state their dreams of youth, eyes lit up in remembered passion of old, only to then merely turn right around and say, alas those years and dreams are gone forever I fear. I remember at ten, thinking how sad to be sure.

I knew intuitively then, what few adults know now, that it is wrong and sad, to cheat ones self in life! Some never strive, for they fear failure more than success, some fear success more than failure! Some view it as being not relevant, basking yes, only in yesterdays tears, not seeing the glowing sun that the morrows lite ignites in hope.

One thing that braids us together as folk in my humble opinion is this fact standing tall, we each and all had dreams! Yes, each and all. Few realized them, fewer yet even ran the race, some are still deliberating thirty years later! Few admit to such dreams, finding it childish and pointless.

I was one such as these, I spent years turning into decades saying, perhaps one day I shall....well, we all know how it goes. I somehow thought one day it would just offer itself to me, usher itself in dignity, neatly packaged, standing there waiting for me when I opened my front door in the morning No, I fear if dreaming was truly the only prerequisite, I would have realized my dreams years ago, for none have ever lived nor breathed, that have dreamed more!

A dream once dressed in beauty and grace, can become the very demon that haunts us in the second watch of night, when we turn our back in indifference, on her gift offered once in time.

Many will deem you mad when you awake at fifty to chase your dreams of youth, this I know well! But I say this! I'd rather be mad, and imbued in electric and blazed passion, then to be viewed as sane and sound among the dead!

No, none can make a man follow a dream, for it of a truth, remains his to discard or to carry by choice alone. I can only testify to this fact I have perceived as true over my walk and traipse through life's hallways, the very saddest folk I have ever encountered bar none! Are yes, those, who have forsaken their dreams.....
Peace,

Ah, these words speak a truth I have only lately discovered:

the very saddest folk I have ever encountered bar none! Are yes, those, who have forsaken their dreams.....

This was an excellent article, I liked what you had to say here, for It was this reason alone, I decided to begin sharing my poetry, in an effort to follow those dreams of my youth,
