A personal note to you: I have a happier poem filled with bountiful love and will post it for you before long. The waters that sustain the poem below may sound bitter, but they are in fact deep and sorrowful and straining toward some welcoming sea. With all my heart, I wish you a life filled to overflowing with all good things. Dawn
I wished you a bridge and you crossed it, then burned it while I stood upon it. You turned, ran fast to your future, free.
I gave you a tie to tradition but you let someone snip, snip, snip it, became less and less present to me.
I tied up my dreams and released them into your care, but you cut them loose and told me to be gone from your life.
I laid bare my soul’s finest treasures and welcomed you to feast; you breathed fire, unleashed fury on my child and me
I offered forgiveness, asked mercy of you for nameless harm I had done. You answered with echoing silence.
What more can I possibly give you – you want nothing and certainly have it all figured out. But maybe this:
I’ll blow out this bright candle for you and pray Spirit’s illumination of the dark thoughts you nurture of me.
A gripping superb write about repudiation and how abusive it is.
Only those who have had a taste of it can understand the anguish it causes. Thanks for the prologue;-) heartbreaking poem on the topic, Dawn!
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
this poem brought me into this experience quite effectively and most vividly ...
A powerfully written poem, borne from pain. I know how this feels....
