"Humankind must get back to the rhythm of the cosmos."
D.H. Lawrence
Good King Lud is at his feast
and nectar flows, and all’s increased
now nature’s glory is released
to bless the summer’s bounty.
The pods are full, udders hang low,
fields and fruits ripen in the glow;
all life conspires to bestow
its yearly gift of plenty.
Under clear skies the days are long
and summer dance and summer song
feed spirit as body grows strong.
Hungry days seem far away.
Now celebrate without remorse,
no frowning priest will ever force
earth’s children to deny the source
that warms the land and lights the day.
