Predestination's betrayal

Published in the Anthology Crystal Dawn by Kedco Studios

Do I see the future of my own becoming
beaten and brained by the contrivances of mourning
until my hunger for emptiness is insatiable
and the abstract of hope a phantom memory
.
Substance of nothingness,
the hallowed hollow which holds
a sacred jewel heart now lies dormant
amidst the flutter and whimsy of this world
Once crimson brilliance flares jaundiced,
deprived of the sole food to satiate,
ambrosia unfettered by rage or rest
.
The flame's touch is cold,
erupting dark in the day
I see stray hearts beat in concrete clothes
trading open prisons for a global toll
ringing to a linen moon named Sin
.
Predestination betrays capriciousness,
living once is enough in times of trouble
and I cannot but strive boldly
through corruption and demise,
hopelessness, lives fed upon lies
for the recreation of destructive ends
This world is exquisitely vicious
