I came from Sierra Leone,  a country where both Christians and Muslims have a cordial relationship, with the one respecting the other's beliefs and having interpersonal relationships. But finding myself in The Gambia, another nation in Africa, I found out that to live as a Christian here is very trying. Though there are no direct persecutions from the government, but if you want to live the true calling of a Believer of Christ, you will be persecuted. In the midst of all these, Christianity still thrived, and is presently; though not in the pace one will want it to be. There has been a lot of compromise in the faith, just to keep the peace of The Gambia and to maintain the co-existence of the two religions. My vision to write and publish the book, Vessels of Honour, came from reading a text in the Bible in 2Timothy 2:20 and 21. I caught the vision that we Christians, especially those of us living here in The Gambia, can not just be ordinary vessels of God, but we can be used for special purposes. We can be honoured to the glory of God. I decided to work on this vision and highlighted certain ministers of the Gospel here in The Gambia, who are standing out as Vessels of Honour.  Take myself as an example, being a professional nurse, I realised that I can do more as a Child of God, so I pursued being an Author. I've been writing love poems on Poetry.com website and also contributed to a book my friend, Sabra Robinson wrote, titled: The Lost sheep.....(you can get a copy from her website, www.sabrarobinson.org, or on facebook). Writing has been my dream since I was a little girl and I want to hit it head on this time with this book coming up early next year. I want Vessels of Honour to inspire Christians world wide, motivates aspiring leaders and help to move Christ higher in our nations....not only here in Africa, but the whole world. We can be Christians of extraordinary move....that is our caling, we are not called to be just a Christian, but one that will impact and impart  his/her generation. I am a professional Registered Nurse. I attained a Bible Certificate from the Banjul Bible Training Centre in The Gambia, where I did a three year course, training on ministry and leadership. I have been in leadership positions in my Church.
