I was born in a small town in southwestern Arkansas in 1931. My parents were honest, hard-working Christians. I did not fully appreciate their godly examples until they had gone to their reward in heaven. To the best of my knowledge, they never accepted one cent of unemployment or other government assistance. They lived what they taught my sister and me: "If you can't say something good about a person, don't say anything!" (Titus 3:2) We moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1943. I am a combat infantry veteran of the Korean War (1951), also was shot at in Viet Nam in 1968, although I was then in a relatively safe HAWK missile unit.  I graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1953 with a baccalaureate degree in Commerce. I retired from the U.S. Army in 1972, then worked for one year as an auto mecchanic. In January of 1978 I received my certificate as a certified public accountant (CPA). I worked as an accountant in county government, small businesses and in my own CPA firm for twenty-nine years. I'm an elder at Destiny Family Christian Center. I have shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of God with inmates in local jails for over twenty-five years, and I'm still sharing. My second wife, Hayriye, and i have been married for forty-four years and have children, grandchildren and great- grandechildren. Hayriye is a rare jewel indeed. "A Place in the Son: Fitly Joined Together in Love and Growing in Christ" is my first book. I believe that every reader will find something of lasting value in its pages. Thank God, it still pierces my own heart when I read certain passages!
