Drawing on a performing arts background, I author and narrate fiction and non-fiction and give motivational speeches. At age 10, I began studies in Scottish Highland Dancing and acting, and started performance at the Portland Civic Theatre in Portland, Oregon. In advanced high school English and social studies, I undertook daily writing assignments in literature and history. During theatrical performance as a young adult, I became a certified member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, Highland Dance genre, and moved to Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, where I taught acting and dance. During my husband’s duty in Rhode Island, I turned to freelance writing and marketing consultation. Returning to Honolulu, I attended the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with distinction. Subsequently, I studied Asian history while a teaching assistant in World Civilizations. My professional memberships include: Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta, the National Writers Union, The Arizona Authors Association, Sisters in Crime, Arizona Mystery Writers. The award-winning Natalie Seachrist Visionary Hawaiian Cozy Mystery Series presents rich atmospheric stories in classical literary style with beloved characters, Pan-Pacific history, and the intriguing visions of the protagonist. 

Academically, I was accepted for membership in Phi Beta Kappa while completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of Hawai`i. During graduate studies and a teaching assistantship, I became a member of Phi Alpha Theta. I am also a Lifetime Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, Highland Division, the National Writers Union, Sisters in Crime, and Arizona Mystery Writers. In 2017, Prospect for Murder was a winner for cover art design and a finalist in the mystery/suspense category at the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. In 2018, Murder on Mokulua Drive placed Second for Published Literature at in the Arizona Literary excellence Awards. It also won First Place for Cover Art Design and was a Finalist in the Cozy Mystery Category in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. Murders of Conveyance is a finalist for Fiction, Mystery-Crime, Fiction, Adventure, and Cover art in the 2019 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. In 2025 the fourth Hawaiian mystery, Yen for Murder was a finalist in the New Mexico Book Awards.

Driven by my background in world history, each Natalie Seachrist Visionary Hawaiian Cozy Mystery offers classic features such as an introductory Cast of Characters, an Hawaiian language pronunciation guide, and an Annotated Glossary of non-English and specialized terms. To help creatives and other professionals, I have a colorful new duo website/blog that provides pieces of my writing in several genres and examines issues facing creative professionals in researching, shaping, refining, and marketing their work.
