Jeanne Burrows-Johnson's
Success Story
Drawing on a performing arts background and education in world civilizations, I author and narrate fiction and non-fiction. At age 10, I began studies in Scottish Highland Dancing and started training and performance at the Portland Civic Theatre in Portland, Oregon. In advanced high school English and social studies classes, I undertook daily writing assignments in literature and history. During theatrical performance as a young adult, I became a certified member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, Highland Dance Genre, and moved to Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, where I taught acting and dance. Attending the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with distinction. Subsequently, I studied Asian history while a teaching assistant in World Civilizations. During my husband’s assigned duty in Rhode Island, I turned to freelance writing and marketing consultation. Returning to Honolulu and then to Tucson, Arizona, I continued freelance writing of promotional as well as historical pieces. From membership in a literary salon, I was one of six co-authors of Under Sonoran Skies Prose and Poetry from the High Desert. For that project, I served as publisher, designed the cover as co-art director and indexer. I then I launched the award-winning Natalie Seachrist Visionary Hawaiian Cozy Mysteries.
