"But I will remember / This bronze moon of July / In bone-white December / To warm me as I die"

Poem Artwork

This Bronze Moon of July

The moon rose enormous tonight

And seemed newly born with its light

Aglint minted gold

Though timelessly old

The moon magic burned burnished bright

It rose shining more like the sun

Blazing bronze on the horizon

In brightening fire

An arc of desire

From brass to gold to platinum then gone

It was rarified

As it clarified

And then it moved on

But I will remember

This bronze moon of July

In bone-white December

To warm me as I die
