I am trying not to write
About die Twitlerzeit tonight
Still though as I hope and pray
The end of it might be in sight
Here it is now anyway

The lying and the denying
Defying reality
Shakes me up but I am trying
To get what it takes to be
Now as it gets as mad as me

Whatever you want to call
It will be falling after all
Haunting now until we see
And wonder how it got this way
Mad quite understandably

As one by one we wake up to
This is mad what do we do?
Having had what it takes one day
Shaken up enough to know
Enough has been taken away

Having gone mad may we go
On to make it better someday
Getting through this even though
Mistakenly not being free
Waking up to have our say

Seeing the light to make it right
