Curiously



I suffer fools less gladly
Now than I used to
Back when others suffered from
My foolishness too

Though I was a fool back then
I knew what to do
Who to grow up to become

Now being madly
Seeing through the crack again
Being serious
About being curious
About poetry

No time for foolishness now
Not when this is it

What I need to do is get
On with it as how
It comes true and has come through
To be here between
These lines I learned the hard way

For you to read when
You may think of me someday

From what I have seen
I turned out less foolish for
Deciding to stay

Knowing I had more to be
Than what I had been
By then by going on and
Now I understand
For the after of before

But curiously
Not so sadly anymore
Seeing what I mean

Seeing you see too I see
What you mean to me
