"I know you understand"

Poem Artwork

Full Moon Beckoning

for Franziska

Sunlight is normative
The given state of things
Mere luminosity
Moonlight is formative
When longing lifts soft wings
To soar throughout the night
Sheer numinosity
By which the mermaid sings
And fairy dust shines bright

The light of the full moon
Glows like snow on the ground
Midnight is the high noon
Of magic all around
The hooves of unicorns
Can be heard in the wood
While ghost trains sound sad horns
In passing understood
As hidden things are found

When fairies all take flight
To kiss the velvet sky
I know you understand
The full moon their birthright
The days cannot destroy
The everlasting joy
Of those who never die
Franziska take my hand
Come and let us join them you and I

This is very lovely and sentimental. Last night the moon was perched right above the mountain for a short while and looked as if it were perched there, resting...

Wonderfully written. I think I see the little boy in you, Steve. To often us guys try to outgrow that. We shouldn't we are leaving memories escape. That moon is inspiring and so is your write.
God Bless,
Lew

Sweet passionate and loving, as I look out my window and see the same full moon shining over my back yard and the forest beyound.

Magnificent work Stevie. A break with your usual style but a demonstration of your talent and versatility as a writer. This had a certain delicate quality to it. I enjoyed this a lot.
Congrats!
