Poem Artwork

 Dreary day
anxiety-ridden
demons haunting
Will to live been
shot to death

The pain of
a thousand
traumas ripped
being apart

Soul filled with so
much confusion
Such pain
When a thousand
ill-willed words
tears essence apart
Form scars that
will never heal

Cannot close eyes
for the vision
that haunts
it cuts like
a knife
The soul
it molests
it tears
to pieces

Feeling the pain
of a thousand
beetings bruising
the body
some do leave
scars

I can hear his laughter
still
His joy of causing
pain

I can feel his
manipulating
my mind
still

I can hear his
frustration
still
When I refuse to
yield

You can rape me
try to shape me
into someone else
But I will not
succumb
to you

You can scare me
try to tear me
apart
I will never bend
for you

Look over my shoulder
there's someone
in my room
I turn over
to see
So scared
to be

It's a shape of
a human
It's full of light
and full of dark
Specks of light
intermingle
with specks of dark
Creating perfect
balance

Through me it sends
peace and solace
Why do you cry
dear child?
Don't you know
you are so loved?

You may not
die
You are not
complete.

See how these threads
surround you an me
A thousand threads
of light shoot through

The essence
of the world
The essence
of the universe

The essence of heaven
and the essence of hell

All intermingle to
create a balanced whole
And you are part of it.
Can't you see?
You belong to
destiny
Guardian of this world
to spread your word for
all to see

Taken upon you
taken upon me
Formed a bond
with destiny
To strong to break
invisible to see
Yet you know it's
inside us we
are
the guardians
