The Stars

Poem Artwork

It's the stars, Brave and bold
they twinkle on the nightsky.
Dream of love, pure and true .
But hide behind the clouds
whenever love comes near.

Oh how I wish to see them,
watch the aurora borealis
play over their fragile limbs.
One cannot stay forever young.
But with age comes beauty
and wisdom to know that
hiding behind clouds is
no recepy for true love.

Don't scold me for not
trusting the lie that you
dress up in, like a sinful,
wicked sharade.
You hurt me with your
shining, sharp edges.
With your lack of trust
you shall get none
in return from me.

I will stay loyal to mine,
my hearts resting place.
The one I call home.
I am allowed to stray,
but will not for less
than complete trust.
You cannot control me.
I am like a marionette
standing strong against
the pull of your strings.

Follow your own stars. Beautifully expressed.

Your poem seems to be directed towards someone who may be trying to manipulate you. But watching your stars, is in your stars, and cannot be changed by anyone wishing to reel you in to theirs.
