I Dare Not Think

Poem Artwork

Taking back a piece of heaven
to keep it safe here for you
In my eternal garden of mystery
we can hide for a while
Chasing after sunbeams
and moonbeams alike

We can rest in the still waters
of dreams and denial
For really, what is love
but a labyrinth for the souls
that are made with a strong heart
Tender and raw with emotion

You must believe me when I say
I never meant to confuse us this way
I'd like a piece of sanity right now
to pretend like I am not paralyzed
by fear of what we might become
It is not the dark I quiver before

I dare not think of what I stand to lose

I understand where your words are going and I know love has it's twist and turns, nevertheless what's meant to be will be. Lovely words you have shared.

Rather hauntingly tender, creating a beautiful dreamlike place of sunbeams, moonbeams and still waters, yet underneath it all is the fear of losing something precious.

Oftentimes, what we dare not think about is presactly what occupies our mind.

Well expressed. Love always comes with pain -- the pain of loss or the pain of betrayal.

I sense much concern that love may be fleeting or turn. With an open heart, I don't think you can go wrong.
