Inspired by lyrics, you will still find a piece of me in here, but a fading one.

Poem Artwork

A dream bought and sold,
waiting here to watch it unfold.
something pulls my memorystrings,
meetings unecxpected make rings
on the water, as I walk to the slaughter
of love found and lost,
at such a cost.

I remember seeing you everywhere,
if I had known then how I'd react, I swear...
I would have turned to meet you up,
your eyes of startled recognition as you stop.
That ghasp on your breath,
I'd follow to the small death.

How my body burn,
how my soul yearn,
to find out, to learn,
what we could've been,
partners in delicious sin,
I wish to take you in.

In vane I have walked this earth,
searching for diamonds, finding only dirt.
We could have been right there and then:
We can start the journey just say when.
I'd follow you to hell and back my love,
as you are the one I have been dreaming of,
since the beginning of the millenia when i first saw you,
when I felt that connection through and through.

How my body burn,
how my soul yearn,
to find out, to learn,
what we could've been,
partners in delicious sin,
I wish to take you in.

It has been a healing journey to come here;
to be honest before this journey I didn't dare,
to stop in my tracks and face you,
it might sound silly but it's true .
Maybe it's still so, I don't know,
we can only find out if you have another go.

How my body burn,
how my soul yearn,
to find out, to learn,
what we could've been,
partners in delicious sin,
I wish to take you in.

And now it might be to late,
maybe we can't wipe the slate
clean of all those years that's gone by,
foolish but yes, I want to try.

As the saying goes…
“It takes two to Tango”…
If the other is still willing..
I wish you well on what you say is
a healing journey…

I admire the Frank baring of your soul…

Best wishes…
Diana..🍃

Sometimes the ink is indelible. Great rhyme and flow, Elizabeth. Haunting poetry.

Great longing in this song, this plea. I wish for you that it will be.
